Died Exactly a Year after Purchase
While it worked, IT WORKED. The blender had no issues slicing through anything; however, the month after the warranty expired, the blender started to make whirring sounds and would get caught while blending. I shook the base around and that seemed to help the problem for a bit. I would have given this review 1 star, but Ninja sent me a replacement free of charge considering the blender died the month after the warranty expired. Had I decided to contact them later, perhaps I would have had a different outcome. Great customer service, not so great blender. Also, I have a feeling this model may soon be discontinued considering the BL480D is no longer being sold on the official Ninja website and support informed me they had “no more replacement bases” in stock. I was sent a brand new one instead. If you like Ninja, I recommend another model instead.

Don’t waste your money
I loved my first ninja. It lasted for about eight years before it quit working. I replaced it with this one which was the same model, thinking it would be just as good and last as long. But I was wrong. This lasted for about a year before it stopped functioning correctly, I have to push it down to make it work and sometimes even when I’m pushing on it it won’t work. I’ll be finding a new blender because this one is no good anymore. Don’t waste your money it’ll break.

Worse Version of a NutriBullet
I previously had a NutriBullet and was happy with it until it finally died after about three years. I wanted to try something different and went with this, hoping it might last a bit longer. This thing works, but I have a few complaints. First of all it seems about 50% louder than any blender I’ve ever owned before. It also has these ridiculous suction cups on the bottom to hold it in place, which makes it seem like they couldn’t engineer the blender to not run away from you and stuck these on as a solution. The most annoying thing is the design of the interlock between the containers and the blade lid. It is designed in a way such that when you take the container off the blender and remove the blade lid, set the blade lid down, the blended smoothie remaining on the blades drips back down into a crevice around the edges of the lid. If you need to put the smoothie back on the blender after checking it out you must clean the crevice/blades again before doing so because when you screw the lid back on all the stuff that dripped in the crevice comes spewing out all over your hands or the blender. This is easy to resolve by rinsing the blades between consecutive blending but it’s annoying either way. The NutriBullet was threaded differently and this never happened with the NutriBullet because there is no large gap on their blade lid thingys. I could open the smoothie, set the blade down, check it out, and then screw it right back on without issue if I needed to. I do not know why they had to engineer these lids with an annoying narrow pit all the way around the inside edges!!!It blends stuff too fast if you like thicker frozen smoothies/shakes. It spews the solid chunks to the top, doesn’t allow them enough time to settle, and eventually my entire smoothie is just sitting at the top of the container as the blades spin superfast without actually blending anything. Adding more liquid fixes this, but it also makes the drink less icy delicious. The NutriBullet creates a sort of weird vortex using much flatter duller blades than this Ninja that forces the food in the middle of the blender back down right into the blades. At first I thought this was just some BS but it actually seems to make a difference. On my NutriBullet most of the solid ice stuck at the top would be sucked down towards the middle and destroyed. On this Ninja the ice at the top seems to just get stuck at the top until I start shaking everything. These blades are much more dangerous than the NutriBullet. The NutriBullet blades were almost dull to the touch but seemed to blend just as evenly as this razor sharp monstrosity.I am personally not happy with this at all but I was mainly using it for dessert drinks, malts, and smoothies. If you’re into more liquefied smoothies or are just trying to mix your Nutritional supplements than this would probably be great for that.I think I’m going to try out a more traditional blender next time.

What a Great Buy!
I love it already. I got it from the Amazon Warehouse and was a little worried because of something else I just bought and returned because it was obviously not checked over well because it was returned and wasn’t in “like new” condition. And I’ve purchased Echo devices through the Warehouse with no problem. But the Ninja I received today has helped restore my confidence in Amazon Warehouse items. The box was damaged as stated. But the product worked for me perfectly and had no cosmetic flaws that I have noticed. I was so tired of using the shaker cup I have that I opened the Ninja up right away and cleaned it and used it. Wow. I’m impressed. And to think I didn’t know I could afford a Ninja blender. But thanks to Amazon Warehouse I got this one for almost half the price of a new one.It is powerful and quick and I’ll have to try it out more to see what it’s best points are. But for now it’s just better than shaking my shakes by hand and them not being completely mixed after I shake and shake and shake. I am totally impressed right now and happy I could get a special price just because the box was damaged. And it is easy to clean. If you rinse it immediately after use it is like it hasn’t been used at all. I’m sure I’ll want to at least hand wash the items I have used tonight. But they were super easy to rinse clean after use. And I would definitely recommend this product and also say don’t let one bad experience turn you away from Amazon Warehouse products. My experience is that they are as stated and will save you money.Just don’t buy from individuals who claim their product is used but “like new”.

Know the product details first
This is a good blender. It will blend the heck out of most things. I had issues with it due to my personal preferences. The first issue is that this is loud. At night, when it is quiet, if I run my blender I can hear it from the parking lot of my building. It’s loud, dogs will bark and children will cry.Second issue, it can seem next to impossible to get the top off some times. If you don’t put the top on tight enough, the contents of the blender cup will go everywhere. However, if you put the top on too tight, then you can’t get it off.The last issue is that some of the food I made in the blender cup gets stuck in the air lock part of the cup (the part that lines the inside of the lid) and if you don’t tend to it, it will get super gross. I use a toothpick to dig out stuff. This would be good for an noisy setting, in my opinion, but not my home.

I love this little blender
Ive been looking for something that I can use to blend shakes and some food items without having to bring out my large blender thats a pain to clean. I looked at Nutribullets and other machines and landed on this one. It comes with 2 different sized cups, and blender bottle style lids so I don’t have to transfer my shake. The machine has suction cups at the bottom so it does not move when blending. And its hard to move period. Thats ok! Its loud though. But its a blender so I expect it to be loud. There are two different settings. One for 60 seconds and the other for 45. Or you can pulse. It doesn’t blend all the way the way through. it lets the liquid settle a couple times during the blending process. And that allows for it to blend through better. All in all, I recommend. I am getting rid of my blendjet and my large blender now!

HUGE IMPROVEMENT
If I could give 10 STARS for Ninja’s improvements on the Nutri Ninja Auto – iQ I would. I begin every day with a protein shake with 8 different ingredients. I’ve been doing this for over 20 years. Started with my cuisinart blender. Loved the drink, but hated the clean-up! Then in 2010ish I discovered the Ninja Bullet. That was like going from propeller airplanes to a small Jet engine. But it had its limitations…Needed more power. Then I bought my first Nutri Ninja, thought I had died and gone to heaven! But, on occasion it would loosen the top blade assembly and leak creating a mess. It didn’t matter how high you filled it or how tight you screwed on the top, once a month it would leak. So when it was time to replace it I switched brands and went with an Aicock. Same thing, was great most of the time, then it would leak….Finally, I was smelling burnt rubber, time to shop again. Meanwhile Ninja was listening to the leaking complaints and fixed the problem. With all the old units, you fill up the blender cup-screw on the blade assembly-drop into slots, then twist it into place. Now, the base is totally closed in, and no more twisting. You just drop into the slots and you know you have a connection when 0 shows up on the screen. Perfect every time! Cleanups about 10 sec. no messes, and I’m flying the concord!! Ninja, thanks for listening and actually making it better instead of cheaper.

Very Powerful, Very Loud – Does Not Last
I bought this a bit more than a year ago and have made roughly 3 smoothies. These are thick and great but hard to blend. So roughly 900 smoothies and the thing just burnt out.It did what it needed to do very loudly for roughly 900 times. That said I am buying another one with the understanding these are disposable after a while.

A paper clip works to remove the gasket
I would give credit to another reviewer who said to use a paper clip to remove the silicone gasket, but it might’ve been for another product and I haven’t found that same review here. Basically you just need a thin, stiff and long enough wire with a tiny little hook at the end so you can slide the wire into the crevice (on either the inner or outer side of the gasket works), turn the hook into or under the gasket to catch it, and pull the gasket out from the lid. Just cut/break the paperclip at one of the curves to make a hook, extend the rest of the clip and bend it to an angle so it’s easier to twist. It works easily and consistently after you see how it works. It also seems to help if the gasket in the lid is wet, so if the gasket is dry and seems stuck, run it under water and try again. I’ve been doing this for over a year and while the gasket has abrasions from this removal process, it is still sturdy and functions just as well without any problems. I’m guessing the gasket might outlast any other part of the blender. Also, there doesn’t seem to be a wrong way to put the gasket back in, but it seems to fit naturally with the ridged side out.

Obsessed with this
I am obsessed with this blender. I use it every single day to make a smoothie or some type of sauce for dinner. I like the upgraded features compared to the OG Ninja. I love that i can turn it on and walk away to keep working/multi-tasking in the kitchen. It is capable of blending anything I put in it!Pros:Great size (2 different) cupsHands freePowerfulMultiple settingsCons:A little loud at timesSlightly hard to deep clean under the ring inside the blade piece

Decent blender for power shakes
I’ve been using this for a few months now and it is good with a few caveats. Initially, it was blending everything without skipping a beat, from ice cubes to frozen berries, etc. After about a month of use, it seems to struggle a bit. Maybe the blades got dull, who knows. I’ve had to remedy it by putting less in the cups to blend and / or adding more liquid. Seems that giving the blender a bit more room in the cup allows it to spin up to speed to blend everything together. So it still works, but now I have to be a bit strategic on how I fill the cup so that it can blend properly. Sometimes, I can smell the burn of electrical / motorized parts when it is struggling to blend so maybe this thing will ultimately get defeated by frozen ingredients. Another negative is that stuff gets trapped in the silicon sealing ring and it kind of a pain to clean. I’ll use toothpicks or cotton swabs to clean that out, which is a bit gross. So far though, it has worked and I’m getting my daily dose of fiber and vitamins in the form of tasty smoothies.

javabob –
good machine with caveats….
I will start off by saying if you expect Vitamix-type outcomes then you will be disappointed.OK, that said I purchased this machine for CONVENIENCE, I choose it for its decent power and would say anything below this wattage will be money wasted. You are asking this small motor to grind up mostly frozen items and hard veggies, it will do it but it is easy to overload the cup. I seem to always use the larger one because with only a few frozen cubes of ice, fruit, or whatever you will still find you overfilled it because the blades take a few inches off the top.But as I said, convienence. The Vitamix container is long and slender and although not terrible to clean still takes time and cannot really be drank out of the container. [ I have an older model and the newer accessories don’t fit it].The Ninja, with its limitations, is a cheaper way around the problems. The Digital timers are neet but the 1st time I used it I thought it was broken!!!LOL.I use it much more and make on-the-run smoothies and “Ice cream” in one glass. Bing, bang, boom, and it’s done. This model is worth the money. Loud? Sort of but what do you expect? It’s grinding stuff and if you can’t handle it for maybe one minute…a smoothie-making Ninja is not the only thing you need.

Obsessed with it, but it’s LOUD.
I am incredibly picky with blending because I enjoy smoothies, but I have texture issues with strings, seeds, etc. This does a pretty great job of making a nice, palatable drink. I appreciate having a single-serve device, too, because I never overprepare or waste ingredients. It’s very easy to clean – you just pop the whole container off, flip it over, unscrew the blade lid, and replace it with a drink lid. None of the pieces have inconvenient nooks or holes that are hard to scrub. My one complaint: this thing is so, so noisy. My entire household is very aware when I’m using it. I’m not comfortable making anything unless everyone upstairs is awake at the time. For me, it’s a small price to pay for a nicer blend, but I can’t recommend it if a quiet device is a must for your needs.

This thing works beautifully! It’s a beast!
I’ve had this for about a year and a half now and just love it! My protein level runs low so I use it a couple of times a week to make a protein smoothie. My husband loves it when I surprise him with a chocolate shake! I’ve heard a couple of complaints that it’s loud and yes it is loud but that doesn’t bother me, I just celebrate all the extra power it has. I’ve never had a blender that I haven’t had to take apart to stir the contents around a time or two so that everything gets blended together before this….this always does the job for me. I’m going to use this until it dies on me, then I will replace it with the same brand!

The real Smoothie King
I had the predecessor to this Ninja for approx 10 years. It was great. I finally wore the motor out, but it did a great job for a long time. I bought the updated model as a replacement. This one is even better. The old model had two minor issues – 1) It tended to “walk” all over the countertop due to vibrations. 2) You had to put the container lid down, and then twist it to lock it in place. And sometimes it would vibrate and it the container would turn just enough to unlock itself, and I had to go put twist and lock it and usually just hold it into place. This model solves both of those issues in a big way. The suction cups solve the walking issue, and there’s a different mechanism in place to lock the container and lid into place. I haven’t once had an issue with the container. This thing crushes through ice and frozen fruits like it’s a day in the park. I make smoothies most days with ice, frozen fruit, almond/walnut milk, and very powdered concoctions. Very smooth and delicious.Negatives? I’m not going to lie. This thing would wake the dead if it was near a graveyard. It’s loud. But I think it has to be to crush through the ice.All in all, highly recommended.

Sofanci Blender/chopper
This handy little blender/chopper saves me so much time and work. I have a large food processor but it is heavy and again I say large. I lost my husband to lymphoma 8 mos. ago and I cook for just one now. I don’t need those big appliances and to lug those heavy things out when I can fit everything perfectly in the handy little gadget. Perfect for one or two people or for chopping small amounts. So east to clean up. It blends, whips, froths and chops anything I need and does not take up a lot of room in the cupboard like those big food processors do. I had one before and it broke so within 2 days I missed it so much I HAD to order another. Such a time saver.

Amazing product for household cooking
I have many kind of blenders and I wanted to try hand blender and got this product in good reasonable price. It comes with 12 speed and turbo for quick fast blend. It’s good to blend the sauces even though when they are hot using this and it came with additional 2 attachment for egg and coffee beating.I have purchased the one with container, so one of the container comes with big blade attachment so which is useful for blending meat, salad and big items.

!!!!Amazing Hand Blender!!!!
Let me just start out by saying, this product is AWESOME!! Not only is it affordable, but the fact that it comes with 4 attachments is even better!!! As soon as we got, I made iced coffee with super frothy foam, just like in the coffee shops! It was super easy to change attachments, and the instructions are easy to comprehend. I literally told 6 people about it! Another thing I like about it, is how long the cord is! Hands down the best one out there, best bang for your buck for sure!!

Ingenuity at it’s finest!
When I opened the package I was so surprised to see the rubber guard. My old Cuisinart broke recently and it did not have this. When I make soups I prefer to use this rather than the blender and the guard helps protect my pots from scratches.

Powerful and easy to use
Really enjoy this hand blender. So far, only blended a couple of shakes, but had plenty of power with the available multiple speeds, and washes up super easy. The beaker is a great feature. Super easy to use; adaptable to several applications with the attachments.

Impressive.
First- the quality is top notch. Second- it performs even better. It can be considered taboo, but I used it to mash (blend in my case) potatoes, and it was perfection. Strongly suggest to get the full set, as it’s only 4$ more, no brainer.

Love it!
I really like the ease of use & how much power the blender possesses. I made tomato soup for the first time & needed an immersion blender. I settled on this one based on all the positive reviews I read. I’m looking for other recipes I can use this with.

Awesome and easy to use!!
I really enjoy this hand blender. I just have used it for making a cheese sauce so far but it worked perfectly. I also love that almost everything (except for the motor base and another piece) are dishwasher safe, that’s super handy and always an important factor in my purchases. It’s powerful but doesn’t splash food everywhere. I will definitely enjoy using this in the future!

Smooth Blending
Sometimes second is better. The first hand blender I bought, the blade screwed on backwards and blended counter-clockwise so every time I used it, the blade came off into the food I was blending. Absolutely horrible! I should have chosen this one first. It works great, and it cost less. Great product, even blending ice. My smoothies are smooth and delicious. Thank you so much!!
